Who assigns seating for wedding reception?

Whose duty is it to assign seats to the tables of the reception? And if it is the bride and groom, how much of a say do the bride's parents have in the ultimate decision?

Traditionally the host, along with the bride and groom, determine the seating of guests. If there is a conflict of opinions, the host would override. Hopefully, if there is an issue, you can work it out to the satisfaction of all.
