Who sits at reserved tables at reception?

We're having trouble deciding who should sit at the two parent tables at the reception. We're having the bridal party at the head table with us and we aren't having assigned seating except for the two reserved tables.

Here are the only people that would be the usual choices: his dad and stepmom, my mom, and my grandmother. His birth mother is invited but they are not close We don't want her at either reserved table.

Who else should we put at the two reserved tables?

Dear WolfSpirit,

Many times, we seat those who are close to parents at their table. So, it could be their favorite aunt, sister, or friend for example.

Best wishes,
