Our wedding reception is in our parish hall. We are bringing in an outside caterer and due to location rules we are able to provide all of the wine and beer ourselves and just pay for bartenders. My fiance and I are torn about wine glasses. In a venue that takes care of drinks you would get a new clean wine glass each time you went up for a new glass of wine; however since this is off site that would not be the case unless we rented 4-5 glasses per person. Do we rent and set the table with one 1 wine "glass" and then if the guest wants a clean glass they get a plastic cup or forgo the actual glass wine glasses and use only plastic wine cups?

Rent real wine glasses with one red, and one white wine glass per person for each adult place setting. If possible, rent a small overage of glasses, about 5% of your final guest count. This way, you would have a little cushion of glasses in case you need them but not too many where you end up wasting a lot of money.

Thanks. Do we do that even though the wine is being served from a bar and not at each table? It is a buffet dinner and we do not have servers pouring drinks. Thanks for your help!
Okay. Because wine will not be poured at the tables, and wedding guests will have to get up and go to the bar, yes, there will be an expectation from them that they will receive a clean glass each time they request a drink. So, you will actually need to rent more glassware. Say, roughly 3-4 glasses per person, and then add your cushion number. Rhonda Allen, Bridal Consultant New Beginnings Weddings
