     balloons for reception

hi there. for my wedding, we have decided to do balloon centerpieces, and are having a balloon arch behind our head table. my question is this. we are renting the helium tanks, and doing this all ourselves, and i was wondering when we should start filling the balloons and putting them up? our wedding starts at 1pm and the reception follows right after, so about 2. i dont want them to start to deflate before the night is over which will be 6. any help will be great. thanks

Hello Marcy,

If at all possible, blow them up first thing in the morning. Heat and air conditioning can cause them to lose their lift.

Marcy:
It is commendable that you would want to do this yourself, but balloon art can be a huge undertaking. Make sure that you have carefully weighed your options. Finances should not be the sole determination as it may cost you in terms of the amount of time consumed, and additionally if the centerpieces do not turn out as expected. Your question leads me to believe that you have not done this before. If so, your wedding may be the wrong time to try given the added duties and stress.
Good luck!
