i will be renewing my vows in July and i would like to have some different centerpieces instead of balloons and candles. our colors are wine and cream and gold. there is no special theme just something simple but elegant. our first wedding was at the courthouse with no family and this time we are having the "works", my husband and i have been together for 17 years(only married for 7) so this will be something special for both of our families. i'm working on a budget of 100.00-125.00 for my centerpieces so, if anyone has any ideas they are greatly appreciated. the wedding and reception will be held in a banquet hall, it's not a fancy place more like a town hall but i want to make it look really pretty. it's a large open space that holds about 200 people and the only tables they have are the long banquet tables that seat about 25-30 people at one. so now you can probably visualize what it looks like

If you have pictures of yourselves alone and with family members over the years refurbish them and place in lovely, coordinating frames that you can place in the center of each table. Try to find pictures of yourselves with each guest from the past and then your guest can each take the frame with their photo with the bridal couple with them as a favor after the wedding. Or, you could play up one of your colors--wine. A bowl of wine grapes with some of the leaves is nice too. Of course, I tend to lean that way--California wine country person.

Well I believe that the best way to warm up a large hall is with flowers. But if you want to do something different, and since your colors are wine, cream and gold, how about two bottles of wine - one red, one white -arranged in a gold-colored bucket. Use cream paper straw as filler and decorate the bucket with wide wine-colored ribbon and bow. Use color coordinated metallic confetti on the table to add to the festive effect.
Since I see now that you will have long tables, arrange at least three buckets down the center of each table. If your budget allows, add small flower arrangements between the buckets.
You can arrange for a few people at each table to win the centerpieces and take them home at the end of the party.
$100/$125 per table for a centerpiece. You can do a lot with that. First, don't get something the guests have to look around to talk. That has always been a issue we me and event planners. For my money, I would get an edible centerpiece dessert for each table. They always stimulate conversion, we all like to eat. It will also start your guests talking at their table and with the other tables. "That looks wonderful, can I have some of your dessert". Have fun, good luck, Rick from limos.com. You might want to consider custom stained glass boxes or picture frames, color matched, inscribed with your names or initials. The stained glass frames enclose the photos, similar to "pressed flowers", which of course, you could include pressed flowers as well, if you wanted. We work with a variety of artists, and have seen some beautiful pieces done very affordably.
