my fiance wants a very quiet wedding. we agreed on a court wedding but I am lost on how to plan the reception. We do not want to invite more than thirty people. can you give me ideas on a small reception that people will not forget?
Rather than getting married in a courthouse, you might consider just renting a very nice Bed & Breakfast for the day, and be married outside or on their verandah. You could then have them provide the meal for you, which would be presented in a very intimate atmosphere. There would be space for a little dancing, comfy furniture for just visiting, etc.
Another suggestion, if you live near a body of water, is rent a dinner boat for the evening, which usually can handle up to 60 or more. So, if all you have is 30, there would be plenty of room for some dancing etc. We provided DJ services on a dinner paddle boat on the lake last year, and it was real nice, and they danced for hours, the food was great, and everyone had a good time. It was beautiful on the lake with a full moon.
Or possibly renting a dinner club and have a mystery dinner. Depending on where you live, you might consider renting a scenic railway car, that would include serving dinner etc. Copen Cabana DJ Audio Visual Production providing Custom Wedding Coffee Table Photo Book with DVD Services http://www.knowareland.com
