design elements new vs old

Hello,

I have a dilema of new vs old. I love old styles and vintage looks but love the sleek and clean look of modern design. I have a vintage inspired dress but want a semi modern cake and decor. I am trying to figure out how to combine the new and old elements. This is also going to be an afternoon wedding (on a major budget) so I don't know what is appropriate and what is over doing it.

I forgot to add that I want my colors to be robins egg blue and lime green, but again, I dont know if this clashes with the rest. UGGGHHH the torment Tongue
