Dear Crazy:

An MC's role is to moderate the reception festivities. He or she may announce the wedding party and entrance of the newly married couple, alert guests to prepare for dinner, work in conjunction with the D.J. on the dances, get the crowd involved in the tosses, etc.

The actual duties will be dependent on what is taking place at the reception.
