     paying for wedding

i'm getting married soon and my parents are paying for the entire wedding, down to the groomsmens' tuxes and parking for guests. my mother-in-law-to-be has all kinds of ideas for the wedding, many of which will be expensive, and hasn't offered to pay for any part of it. I asked my fiance if he could ask his parents to chip in, and he said that it's my parents responsibility to pay for the wedding.

is it OK to not incorporate my MOL's ideas into the wedding if she won't pay for them? thanks for the help.

It is NO parent's responsibility to pay for a wedding. Your parents are being very generous.

Your fiance can gently remind his mom that what she is suggesting will be expensive and that it is not in the budget. If she wants to offer, she will.
