     refreshments after wedding

We are having a 4:00 wedding with refreshments served after the wedding. Is it okay to have finger sandwiches, macaroni salads, chips, crackers and dips? Of coourse, cake and punch too.

Dear Princess,

If your wedding is very informal and the reception isn't the traditional 3 hours long, then it should be fine. We, as hosts, should always provide our guests with the food and beverages they would expect at the time of our event. So, as long as your reception is fairly short, you would be doing this--a small meal.

However, it would be even better if your wedding was at 3 pm instead of 4 pm because you are getting close to the dinner hour.

Best wishes,
