     serving order at reception  

In what order should the bridal party and guest be served at the reception (going through a serving line)?Wedding party, parents, friends, cousins, aunts & uncles, grandparents, siblings, etc.

Dear Linjohn:

The wedding party should be served first at their table(s). This means someone (hostess(es), usher(s), etc.) should be designated to perform this one reception task. As for serving the other guests, tables should be called by their numbers. Since parents, siblings, etc. are normally seated at the first few numbered tables, they'll be served first (after the party).
