wearing original wedding dress for reception after destination wedding
My husband and I were married last month in Jamaica. We are having a reception in 2 weeks at our church and everything is moving right along except one piece- the attire for myself and my sisters. They were my bridesmaids in Jamaica. My husband is not wearing a tux again, mainly due to the hassles of renting, but will wear a formal suit. My mother wants me to wear my original wedding dress and my sisters, their dresses, however they are adamant they won't wear them and it's not appropriate. What do you think?
Thanks!

Dear Wants to Wear the Dress,
It is very appropriate, but not mandatory. Many guests will want to see the bride in her dress. It actually helps them feel as if they are a part of the wedding. However, it is an option. If your sisters don't feel comfortable, it may be best to compromise. Hopefully everyone will be on the same page soon.
