     Are wedding themes necessary?

My fiance & I are curious; are wedding themes necessary? Does there have to be a theme for a wedding? What's the point of having a wedding theme? Everyone but our mother's seems to think we NEED to have a theme & it's annoying! I don't know what our theme would be if we had one. We both like precious moments, but fear that if that's our theme, everyone will get us precious moments as gifts & we don't want that. I just don't know what to do with this.

A wedding theme is not necessary. Some bridal couples are really into certain subjects such as renaissance, medevil times, princesses or butterflies but, if you and your fiance don't really have any special hobbies or interests then don't bother with a theme. However, your parents might be confusing a theme with a color scheme so speak to them about what they are imagining but, the ultimate decision is yours.
