     Different Fall Colors?

I'm getting married on Halloween 2008 but my fiance and I would like to stay away from the Halloween theme and just go with a fall / formal arrangement.

However, I'm having trouble coming up with a color scheme and decorations because everyone is pointing us towards the Halloween theme!

The one color my fiance really likes is a dark chocolate brown (main color possibly?) and I love the deep, jewel tone colors of fall, especially dark red or a reddish purple. I hate oranges and yellows though. This seems to be another problem because every thread, or any pictures I've seen dealing with fall colors & decorations always have orange or yellow in them.

Since my dress has a dark chocolate/truffle color in it, would I be able to work dark red (and any other colors to lighten or that goes with it) into a theme without using oranges or yellows?

Any suggestions or ideas would be very helpful! Thank you!!

Keep looking for pictures and things. There are plenty of beautiful combinations to suit what you have described. There are capuchinno colored roses that would look fabulous next to deep red dahlias or black Magic roses. Mix in chocolate brown hypericum berries and rust red foilage accents and you will start to get the idea. A bit of deep purple in the form of mini calla lilies or a filler like statice or caspia would be great too. Just keep working on it and stick to you plan. It will come together. Take care and good luck!

Well would anyone have any suggestions on which colors to put with the chocolate besides yellow or orange?

Chocolate/Red and......?

I've been looking at tons of pictures today, guess I'm just seeking a little confirmation.

SmileThink of chocolate as a background color and choose a pallette that works off of that. Some great combinations for chocolate are...

Red, Hot and bright pinks accented with brown hypericum berries and a few green leaves.

Deep burnished pink with beige and ivory.

Maroon, purple and lavender with brown and grey foliage.

One weird but effective way to see a million great color combinations is to take the trouble and go to a good quilting fabric store. Fabric print designers put together thousands of magnificent combinations. Take time and look hard. You will find options. Buy a few pieces and show them to your flower designer...This will work!

I am sorry you are not finding it looking on the web...But if what you want is something really georgeous and a bit out of the box you might have to think a bit differently.

By the way, my 30th wedding anniversary will be on October 29th this year. Pumpkins were not my thing either. It is a great time of the year though, have a beautiful wedding.

Thank you very much for your input!

The marron, purple and lavaneder sounds really nice and I think I'd like to go with something similar to that. I've tried fabric stores before but I don't know where a really good one in the area is, and I can't find what I'm looking for at the others. So tommorrow I think Im just going to go to a paint store to look for some samples there.

Thanks again for helping me to get started!

My personal favorite is chocolate brown and teal or light blue or light pink.
