     Halloween Wedding

October 2006, we will be having a Halloween wedding :) My boyfriend and I have the best Halloween parties ever, but having a 'Halloween wedding' can't be the same as are Halloween parties.

So my questions are.....Anyone out there have any ideas on

1. My wedding dress will be red, what kind of costume should I get to go with my red wedding dress?

2.What should the bridal party dress up as?

3.Spooky centerpieces?

4. How to ask guest to dress up?

5.Any other ideas you might think might go with the theme.

Thanks

Smile

Halloween wedding theme...cool!

Adding a cape to any type of attire can add a "halloween" feel. Consider dress styles worn by TV stars such as Lilly from the Munsters and Morticia from The Addams Family. This works for your bridesmaids too.

Grooms and his groomsmen can wear black tuxes with red cumberbund and tie (dracula style).

For centerpieces try some professionally carved jack-o-lanterns with candles inside or watch some old dracula movies and duplicate the candelabras. Use black tablecloths covered partially in cheesecloth made ragged on the edges to imply cobwebs. Go to your local party store and shop the Halloween aisle to get more ideas.

Send a newsletter to all of your friends and family telling them about this unique wedding theme and outlining your dress requests. Post your personal wedding website address, if you have one.

Wedding Favors: Halloween treat bags filled with homemade candies. Votive candles in orange, red, gold and black wrapped in tulle tied with matching colored ribbon. More Fall or Haloween wedding favor ideas!

Have a blast!

There is indeed such a thing. Smile

It depends on where you live but try local farms or where they sell the pumpkins at haloween in your area. Often times they will know. Also, try asking your florist or your wedding planner.

Lastly, try searching the internet for pumpkin carving.

Good luck.

GOTHIC, GOTHIC, GOTHIC.... would be perfect for the theme. If you live near a large city, check out their costume rentals. You might find this a cheaper alternative for your bridesmaids than purchasing dresses.

Huge Jack O' Lanterns carved and lit for the tables. Perhaps one large one for the buffet table with silhouettes of your profiles.

Please send pics when all is said and done! Thanks!

Ok - this was just too creepy!

I was searching for more ideas for our own 2006 Halloween wedding and ran across your post:

- My name is also Crawford

- I will be wearing red as well and we're asking guests to dress up (our requirement is period or modern formal wear - if you could wear it to a wedding, regardless of the year, 1300, 1930 or 2006, it's acceptable).

- We'll be using a lot of the ideas suggested below (pumpkin centerpieces, etc. though we'll be throwing a few jack-o-lantern carving parties instead of paying a professional).

Just thought I'd drop a line and wish you a happy Halloween wedding from one Crawford girl to another!
