Outdoor wedding reception feel for indoor reception
I am having my wedding at a country club in mid-September. The ceremony will be outdoors, but unfortunatley the reception will be indoors. Any suggestions on how to take the "indoor banquet room" edge off?

If possible, choose another color of linen besides the standard white ones usually offered. If you can't, or if it is going to cost a significant amount, try selecting napkins that will bring a bit of contrast to the table. Even napkin holders are a small, easy decor enhancement.
Also, if possible, use chair cover linens with sashs. I have found it really adds a touch of elegance to any room.
Whether you use floral or non-floal arrangements, adding candles (2 inch votives-white, set in clear, or colored votive holders) can be quick, and inexpensive. Taller candles are fine too, but they shouldn't be taller/higher than the actual table arrangement.

Thank you. Next question-My objective is to make the space look and feel more like an outside tented area than an enclosed setting. What do you think about maybe draping sheer panels from the ceiling with lighted paper lanterns-something dramatic (but not over the top dramatic). Also in addition to floral, some kind of green foliage (trees, ferns etc.)
I like your idea of draping sheers but it is very labor intensive and time consuming. If you move forward with it, be sure to enlist a handful of people to help set up - early, preferably, the night before. Lighted paper lanterns could work too. If you can, and if permissible by the venue, another option might be having a lighting company come out and put up some outdoor dangling lights. The effect you would get is similar to the outdoor lights we see at the holiday time.
With the florals, you could create an arrangement with greenery like ivy tied in with wreath vine and white gardenias. Or, there are tall candle holders shaped like mini-trees (stands about 1 - 1 1/2 feet tall) with the branches reaching upward. On the branches, you would hang dangling votive candles. You could also add a touch of ivy to the branches on the mini-trees too.
