     Theme, Colour, Decorations

I am trying to decide between two dates and what to do for each. The first date is in March but would like other ideas besides St. Patrick's day theme, horseshoes and the colour green. The other is April 1; would it be crazy to have an April Fools wedding and how would I decorate?

If in March, you could do an Alice in Wonderland "Mad Hatter's" theme.... "Madder than a March Hare" (i.e. crazier than a march rabbit). The possibilities on that one are endless, especially for table decorations, party games, etc.

Regarding the April Fools date, if you have a sick sense of humor, you could get with your bridal party and fiancee, and stage a petty squabble with each respective partner stomping off in the other direction. Then come back into the room dancing and laughing....shouting APRIL FOOLS!

Regarding decorating, you could choose to utilize funny things that "don't work" (i.e Candles that don't stay lit or won't go out, personalized paper napkins that are glued on the corner and won't open...) For your drinks, fake ice cubes with bugs inside (my favorite).

One of them could be "April Showers", and use colorful umbrellas as centerpieces, and galoshes filled with flowers. For favors, you could give away colorful rain hat with slicker, umbrellas, etc. To surprise people, throughout the evening have unexpected "confetti showers" from above.
