Hi. I'm having a winter wedding,Dec. 30. The problem I need help with is that we are having the reception in a gym of a communtiy center. The gym is very large but has potential. The ceilings are three different hights, like a stair stepping ceiling. each level of the ceiling has sky lights. It seems appropriate to accentuate the ceiling some how because its really the rooms greatest asset. We already have bought about 5000 clear christmas lights and need some ideas of how to incorporate them into a winter theme(not christmas theme). any help would be great. Josh

This really isn't my area and I know others will come up with better ideas. But, the one thing I can think of is to bring in deep blue accents and stay away from red. I know, obvious. It's the only thing I could think of :)
You could also hang the lights at different heights accenting each different ceiling height.
If possible, perhaps you could suspend from the ceiling in various heights from the floor a few giant snowflakes made from rope lights. I found snowflake patterns online by typing in search words "giant snowflake hanging decoration". You could probably make your own using string lights wrapped around 1/4" white PVC pipe and glued together. It's something that you could later use in your yard for winter decorations.
