     fall wedding theme colour suggestions

My fiance doesn't like the typical fall colours: burgundy, orange, etc. And, he doesn't like green, yellow, gray or brown. I'm not too crazy over the typical fall theme so, since we are planning an evening wedding, I wanted to have ebony (or black), ivory, light blue and gold (for the lights & candles) as the colours. What do you think of these colours? And, how would you arrange these colours in terms of decorating the tables, favors etc?

Thank you in advance for your help. I'm just looking for suggestions to get some ideas. Thank you.

The colors are great, and neutral enough to go with just about anything. If you want to use flowers for the center, you can purchase blue dyed carnations or chrysanthemums to go with your color scheme, and utilize gold gilded dried flowers/branches for contrast.

You might consider using narrow 12" swaths of sheer gold lacey fabric, and place two or three across the tables, allowing them to crossover in the middle of the table. This would work with white, blue, or black table cloths.

Pale blue name cards with your the guests' name embossed in gold foil, and matching napkins. Personalized gold chocolate Kisses could be scattered about the table, if you wish.

You have chosen colors that have endless possibilities! Enjoy!

Because you are doing an evening wedding, the colors you have proposed sound very modern, clean and chic. In fact, I LOVE them together for a dark evening setting! This colour scheme really lends some great ambience and energy throughout a room, especially if you add some lighting!

Some recommendations and ideas to think about.....

Linens: These will tie your room together- no matter where your venue is! Depending on the look you want, I would suggest combining black, and your blue shade together to tie everything together. Pair up a napkin to match the rest of the linens and your colour scheme will be carried throughout the room.

Favors and other accents: Here is where you can tie in your gold color, depending on your budget. If you are using chargers, go for a gold charger to add some flair to the table. If your budget is more constricted, use your favors to tie in this part of your colour scheme.

Florals: Again, depending on your budget, there are many different options for you to go with. I would suggest no matter the centerpiece, utilizing lighting. There are some great battery operated lights which come in a beautiful blue shade. I have attached a photo of some I used in a recent wedding in which we filled tall glass vases with crystal accents and placed these lights at the base so that the bubbles reflected the blue light. Very cool effect! If you want to minimize the floral budget, I would suggest doing something simple such as tall vases filled with tall white branches (sometimes you can find these at IKEA, & a great buy)! Pair these up with some lighting, and you will have an inexpensive but effective centerpiece. For flowers, whites are always great to use when paired with blues. If you do want to add blues into the mix, use flowers that are naturally found in the blue shades such as hydrangeas, tweedia, and delphinium. As far as white florals, there are plenty to choose from: roses, hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, carnations, and the list goes on!

Best of luck to you and yours, please feel free to ask any additional questions you may have! We are here to help and send you in the right direction! And, to set the record straight, just because you are having a Fall wedding does not mean that you are bound to follow along with traditional Fall colours for your color scheme!
