     seating idea for wedding receptions

I am looking for some ideas about seating for my weddig reception Instead of using place cards on the table I was looking for something really different; something other than charts or frames. I'm getting married in the summer. If you have any pics or suggestions please let me know!!

Hello Jenny325:

For the summer brides I've worked with, we used little clear party favor boxes with ribbon that has the guests name printed on it and jordan almonds in it. We get double use out of those:-) We also used miniature scrolls with the guests name tagged on the ribbon. This too doubles as a favor. One of my favorites, albeit time consuming, is the handmade place cards we make.

I purchase the paper (pre-cut) from my local paper speciality store. Add the vellum paper (also from the store) and a ribbon that is a color from the wedding. The printing can be done at home if you have a really good printer. If not, go to a local copy store and they'll print it for you. The vellum is great because it makes the place card look very elegant and also camouflages the printing. As for how the guests will find their seats, you still should have some sort of chart directing them. Once they get there however, they'll be pleasantly surprised.

I hope these help.

Best wishes,
