We are having a beer and wine only bar for our wedding. With 80-90 guests, champagne can get expensive, even just for the toast. Is it ok for the bride and groom (only) to have champagne for the toast? Are there other options? If not, any idea on how much champagne we would need for a toast with 80-90 guests? Also, my venue does not have champagne glasses. Are the plastic ones ok? The reception is a BBQ Buffet so nothing fancy. Thanks!

Dear What to Serve,
Traditionally, sparkling wine is used to toast. It is your reception, so you can have anything you wish. If you choose sparkling wine, you can use the plastic for a bbq.
A bottle serves 5 full glasses. You could give everyone who wants a glass one half glass just for toasting. Because my math may not be as good as yours...
