     Broken Wedding Ring Finger

What to do? My honey broke his finger playing basketball when he was younger. It was never fixed properly. It's very crooked and a ring will not fit over the top end of his wedding finger. Does anyone know if you can have a man's ring made that snaps on maybe with a hinge or like device? I want tradition. Blush

I also heard that if a man where's his wedding band on his right ring finger it means he is a widow. Is there truth to this? Mad I am very much alive. LOL

Please help!

Dear Broken Finger,

I'm not sure about a special ring, but he could wear one on his middle finger. The only reason why we use the ring finger is because it was thought that this was the closest way to a person's heart--the vein in that finger supposedly goes to the heart.

Many widowers do wear their wedding rings on their right hands, so this may be what you are hearing.
