This may be a dumb question, but the love of my life has been separated for 2 years now and we're planning to get married in November 2005. He still trying to complete the divorce from his first wife. Is it ok for us to get engaged prior to his divorce becoming final or is that in really poor taste?
Thanks.

Dear Engaged,
This is very old fashioned thinking, but here we go... Even though your love has been separated from his wife for two years, he is still married. It would be best for you two to wait until his is divorced to become engaged.

Go ahead and get engaged. Divorces take forever sometimes. Fellow Bride

No, even if you are legally separated you should check with your state and your agreement since there could be provisions against cohabitating or being engaged. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
