     Engagement Ring Etiquette

I recently found a ring set (diamond solitaire heart and diamond wrap) on Ebay that I love and would like to purchase as an engagement set for the woman I love and want to marry. I contacted the person who has the auction listed. I found out that she purchased the set of rings as a present to herself and is only selling them because of family needs. Is it proper etiquette to give someone an engagement ring that someone else has worn even if the ring wasn't worn as an engagement ring by the previous owner?

Dear Trying Again,

Sure, this is fine. It would be different if this was a ring you bought for an ex. But, you can purchase the ring anywhere.

Best wishes,
