We have recently been looking at rings. I want a princess cut solitaire with sidestones on the engagement ring and 2 bands for the ring that match. We have been talking about what is the "correct" way to wear it. Before the wedding is it proper to wear 1 band and the engagement ring since you will be receiving the other at the weddding, or should you just wear the engagement ring and get the 2 bands at the wedding. It seems people will think you are married if you wear a band with the ring even though you are getting another one. Any ideas?

Dear Kris,
It is best to just wear the engagement ring before the wedding. You would give it up right before the wedding to have all of the pieces joined. Then you would receive the entire ring at the wedding.
