     Left or Right?

I have recently become engaged, and was reading up on what hand the engagement and wedding rings go on, when I found that they traditionally go on the left hand. I am left handed, and cannot stand for any sort of jewelery on my left side at all. Is it okay to switch my engagement ring and wedding band when I get it to my right hand?

Dear Lefty,

Traditional for the bulk of us here, wedding and engagement rings are worn on the left hand as long as we are married. It is your choice to be different. No one needs to give you permission to do so.

Best wishes,
