Matching titanium wedding band to a platinum engagement ring
I am currently shopping for our wedding bands (he bought the engagement ring, I'm getting the bands) and I spotted an absolutely gorgeous titanium band for myself (with discreet inset diamonds) which also happens to be from one of our favorite jewelry designers (we already have a number of pieces from him). The problem is that although this wedding band is titanium, my engagment ring is rhodium-plated platinum.
The white-metal colors appear to match, but how differently will the two metals age? I've heard that titanium can cause a chemical reaction with other metals in certain circumstances. Would this be an issue if the band is going to sit up against the platinum ring for years to come?
Although having two different metals for the rings is very non-traditional, I'd like to make it work if I can. Any thoughts from an expert?

Hi,
My experience with customers tells me that this has not been a problem in the past, although we rarely get someone that mixes metals, so I cannot say with certainty how this would effect long term use of these metal combinations.
