My daughter's boyfriend would like to get her a promise ring. I have a ring that belonged to my mother, it is her first engagement ring. I would like my daughter to have it but because her boyfriend doesn't make a lot of money and I don't have any son's to pass this ring down to, would it be appropriate if I gave the ring to her boyfriend to give to her?
