     Proposing

Is it improper to tell people that you are going to propose to your girfriend and show them the ring before you actually propose?

Dear Proposing,

Well, in the eyes of the woman it may be. The lady would want to be the first one to see the ring besides you and your jeweler. If you have already done this, it would be best just to tell her that you were so excited about proposing, you couldn't help telling the world. Women typically appreciate it when their men are excited about being with them.

Actually, sometimes there are a lot of people who know about the proposal beforehand when the future groom proposes to his future bride in front of people. Let's say that you were in a restaurant with some of your friends and you proposed to your lady there. Your friends would probably know before the event. How could anyone think that this would be improper?

Best wishes,
