Hi, I have search for about 2 hours on the site to make sure this isn't a duplicate. I apologize if it is.
My question is regarding two wedding sets. When my fiance proposed to me, he had his grandmothers 70 year old ring with him which I absolutely loved. However, he told me he wanted to also get me the ring I have always truly wanted and today he did. The ring he bought me was an actual bridal set and I will be wearing it on my right hand. I will be using his grandmother's original bridal set on my left hand and will treat it like my actual wedding ring. Would it be wrong to wear the bridal set we bought on my left hand? Technically, it is a engagement ring and a wedding ring. Again, it is not the wedding ring I plan to wear on my left finger when we get married. Would this be okay? I just don't want bad luck - if you know what I mean.
Thank you sincerely

Dear Princess29,
No, it is a bridal set even if it is not the one you plan on wearing as one. You could wear the engagement ring part of the set. It really doesn't have anything to do with luck. It is just viewed as inappropriate.

I'm not an expert on luck, but I do think it would be innappropriate to wear the whole set. Why not wear just the bridal ring - you'll get two great rings to add to your ensemble on your wedding day; something more to look forward to.
