I have a solitaire engagement ring and will be using a wrap as my wedding band to make it into a 3-stone ring. However, I am unsure how to do this at the ceremony since your wedding ring is supposed to go on alone. I really don't want to walk back down the aisle wearing just the wrap without my ring, so when am I supposed to put my engagement ring back on?

Actually, whether you keep your engagement ring on during the ceremony or take it off is a personal choice. If you want to keep your engagement ring on so when your wedding ring is slipped on the pieces fit together, feel free to do so.

More than likely you will have to have your ring soddered to make it into one ring. So, most brides give up their engagement rings right before the wedding to have it soddered and receive the 'new' ring at the wedding.

Those are great ideas. Does anyone know how well wraps stay together without soddering them and whether soddering can ever be undone?

Every once in a while the soddering breaks. So, it isn't a life long solution. It may be best to talk to a good jeweler. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now

You do not need to solder the wrap to your engagement, that is the reason it is called a wrap, the gold wrap is fit around the diamond securely so it does not move around. You can solder the wrap to the engagement if you wish to, and it can be taken apart at any time by your jeweler. Good luck.
