Wearing engagement ring on right hand

My husband and I used my grandmother's wedding band as my engagement ring. We got our own matching wedding bands for our wedding. I was wondering if the band I used for our engagement can be worn on the ring finger (3rd finger) on the right hand. I tried wearing the wedding band and engagement bad on the 3rd finger on the left hand ( wedding band finger) but is very uncomfortable and feels as if the antique band will just slip off too easily.

It really doesn't matter which hand you wear the engagement ring on once you're married.
