     Wedding band tradition

My Fiance and I were thinking about upgrading my engagement ring instead of getting just a regular band wedding day. I know it is tradition to give just the band on that day from what i understand. Would it be wrong for him to give me the "upgraded" ring on the wedding day instead of just a band itself?Unsure

Dear Valle,

This is fine. You can have any type of ring you wish. The engagement ring is optional. So, it really doesn't matter if you are not wearing it prior to the wedding. Many of us don't anyway due to the popularity of the ring set. We usually have it soddered directly before the ceremony so we are without it for a few days before the wedding.

Best wishes,

I agree - those who do not have them altered prior to the wedding day still take them off and often wear them on the other hand during the ceremony, so it won't make any difference. Choose whatever band configuration is meaningful to the two of you.
