groom wants to wear wedding band on right hand.

An old sports injury disfigured the 3rd finger of my fiance's left hand to the point where wearing a ring would be uncomfortable if not impossible. In such a situation what is the appropriate finger for a wedding band? Should he just wear it on his right hand instead?

Re: [SFgal] Which finger? [In reply to]

Dear Which finger,

In some countries, the ring is worn on the right hand and some men here don't even wear rings. Men wearing a wedding ring implies that this marriage is an equal partnership. The important thing to focus on is that he wants to wear one--a very good thing. So, he can wear it on his right hand if he wants to.

Best wishes,
