     Who buys the mans ring?

Hello,

I don't have the faintist idea on how engagement rings work Crazy. My boyfriend & I have been dating for two years. We live together now. We don't share a checking account yet. He asked my parent for their permission & yesterday we went "browsing" for rings. Am I suppossed to buy his ring? Or does he buy all of them? What is the common "rule of thumb"?

Dear Who Buys,

Traditionally, he would buy yours and you would buy his. However, this is something you two should be purchasing together. You live together, will be married, and all of these financial decisions will affect your future. So, make these decisions together.

Best wishes,
