     heirloom ring

It has been agreed that I will receive Nana's ring (his grandmother) as my engagement ring. I haven't seen it nor will I until he asks. I have a fair idea of it's style by the year of her marriage and love that era of jewelry, but I know it's not the 'bling' I'd always dreamed of. What I'd like to do is wear the engagement ring for the length of the engagement and get a fabulous diamond eternity or anniversary band as my wedding band and move Nana's ring to my right hand. Is this ok? or tacky? and can anniversary and eternity bands be worn as wedding bands?

Your idea sounds wonderful - as long as the two of you agree! Happy Shopping!
