My daughter and I are both in my fiance's sisters wedding. She had asked if I would be part of the wedding and then told me, not asked, that my daughter was going to be the flowergirl. I brought the dress for $150. Now the alterations are another $100.00. I think that in the end $250.00 is a lot of money and I still have to buy her shoes, the tiara and get her hair done. She is only 2 and I am afraid she is not going to do all that they want her to do. Plus I was never asked, I was told. I feel as though she should help pay for some of it. Am I wrong? If she should pay how do I go about asking?

Dear Princezz23 -

If you were told, not asked, you should have spoken up right there and then. Now the dress is bought and probably there are no refunds. If you really do not want your daughter to be in the wedding and you don't think she will comply then discuss this with the couple. But, if the issue is just the expenses, you really need to accept the responsibility that comes along with this role. The bride is not responsible for paying for any of this.
