Has anyone done a honeymoon registry? How does this rank on the etiquette scale? Is it a viable option for a couple who has lived together for several years & doesn't need any household items?

It is considered perfectly acceptable to have a honeymoon registry. As long as you do not include your registry information with your wedding invitation you are correct. Let friends and family know in the bridal shower invitation and by word of mouth. If someones asks then , of course, you would let them know where you are registered. This is not considered asking for money or for gifts since your guests expect to give a gift for a wedding and many will be pleased to know what gifts you prefer. Keep in mind that you WILL probably receive some gifts that are not within your registry. Please accept them graciously and send a thank you. If you don't want it, or can't use it, then simply return the gift or, even better, donate it to charity.; it's nice to give to others and it's tax deductible!
