Hi,

Please help me. Is it ok for MOB dress to be similar in style to bridesmaids? Bridesmaids are floor length, a shimmery turquoise color with spaghetti straps. MOB is same style but in dark teal, has 2 layers (top layer is sheer fabric) and straps are 2 inches wide. It is a beach wedding on 8/28/05. Thank you. Cheryl

Not really. The MOB dress should be similar in formality, length, and the color should blend. But, it should not be as close as you mention. She will most probably look as if she is one of the bridesmaids, such as a MOH.

I agree with Rebecca...it sounds like the MOB dress is too similar to the bridesmaids. I would suggest going with a different color other than dark teal...for example platinum, champagne, peach even a pale yellow. Any of those colors would compliment the turquoise that the bridal party will be in. Still go with a long dress, to match the formality as the bridesmaids, but I would suggest picking a style that isn't so similar. I understand that time is running out...so if you can't find a different style dress that you feel good in, then just go with the one that you have but in a different color.
