Hi and Help!
I recently visted an upscale bridal salon. They had me try on unusual wedding dresses (more like evening wear) and to my astonishment the whole salon raved about this designer dress, modern victorian in light green satin. Bodice is fittend beaded in colors of cream tiny burgandy flowers and gold beads. Matching is a green flowing shawl. I put a deposit on the gown however, I am now confused if this color is appropriate and more like "Carmen Miranda?. It definitely not typical "bridal" material and not what I pictured for me when I arrived however very unusual and very spring. I can change the bottom to champagne or gold or whatever. This is my 2nd wedding, (next may) and I didnt have a formal wedding the first time. Any feedback on my dilemma?

Dear Going Green,
If the dress looked good on you, you liked the color, then you are fine. It is a formal dress with the beading, so your wedding will have to be more on the formal side.
With a second wedding it is even more appropriate to experiment with non-traditional elements. Plus, many brides are choosing color for their gowns these days.
Best wishes,
