I need help with dinner menu. I have already planned mac and cheese, hot rolls, meat trays, and salad, but I need other ideas. The ovens I have are not big enough to support more hot foods so I need help with other cold foods. The baked potatoes I had planned are thrown out now. Can u give me ideas for other cold foods?

thank you johnny

Dear Johnny:

Since your ovens can't support any more hot food, an alternative is to us tray servers that come with canned heat. You can get these from most party stores and they come with the pans for the food, water and stands.

Some ideas other cold dishes are croissant club sandwiches, pasta salad and fruit dishes.

I hope this helps.

You might consider visiting the site below, which contains a tremendous amount of info regarding easy recipes, serving suggestions for hot and cold buffet, photos of how it's supposed to look [:)], and more. It also has suggested buffet food amounts for 20-50 people, actual menu suggestions, and handy conversion charts for serving 100+.

With many people being "carb conscious", you might consider providing some lower carb alternative dishes. Food allergies are always a concern when serving large groups of people. Be sure to let your guests know which dishes contain nuts, soy, or artificial sweeteners.
