I am getting married in the DR on May 5 '06 and having a reception back at home on May 20. I want the reception to be fun, but appropriate. I plan on wearing my gown again, having a cake, music, dinner, etc...

I am considering using a catering option from a nationwide Spanish/Mexican food restaurant. They offer a "burrito/taco" style bar which includes all of the fixings for that type of food. It is set up just like a buffet would be with warming trays, etc... I am trying to go with that type of a theme. Is that too tacky? Should I be worried that guests won't like it? It's very Americanized, but I'm worried. Should I offer other types of food along with it or what? I'm clueless. Please help!

Thanks!

Melly

Dear Melly,

You should be true to your theme but talk to the catering company about some alternatives that may be a bit more universal. This isn't tacky if you present it tastefully and attractively.

Dear Melly,

I completely agree. I think it is very nice. You are thoughtful to provide so much for your guests.

Best wishes,

I too agree. You can have this type of theme without it being tacky. Just keep it simple, not too much.

Cheers!
