Hello,

My wedding colors are chocolate brown and champagne. I want chocolate roses. Does anyone know where I can find these? They have to be real, fresh flowers, not silk.

[;)]Hi, The roses you want are called Leonidas. They are not at all hard to get and quite incredible. They look great all by themselves. The inner petals are brownish tonal shades and the outside of the petals is gold to terracotta shades. They open nicely but it takes a few days. They are pretty orangish when in tight bud but the color evolves and is better as they get more mature.

Another nifty rose in your pallette is called sahara. It is a deep skin toned ivory...running toward brown rather than pink or yellow tones...Absolutely awesome with the leonidas. If you were to carry all leonidas maybe your attendants could have nosegays of the sahara rose intersperced with some chocolate hypericum berries. Elegant indeed!

It is a soft pallette and will create quite the formal look. If you have a hankering to brighten things up a bit you might consider a few other flowers in butterscotch or a pinkish lavender tone...They mix well with the Leonidas as well.

For inspiration order some Leonidas from your florist. Take them home and arrange them in clean lukewarm water. Watch them open and change color. They are really interesting to follow...With all sorts of undertones to pick up.
