Transportation fee for wedding singer?

An old friend from highschool has agreed to sing a duet with another friend at the ceremony, but he lives in Indiana and the wedding will be in Maryland so he will have to buy a plane ticket. I was planning on paying him an honorarium but do I also need to pay for his flight??

No. You are not expected to pay for his flight. It would be nice to find some place for him to stay though. Perhaps a family member can put him up for a few days.
