Is this dress too much for an evening wedding in May?

I'm attending an evening wedding in May. The ceremony and reception will be at an upscale hotel. Attached is a picture of a dress I'm considering. Please give me your feedback on the length and if the pattern is appropriate.

Dear Too Much?
I'd think so. It just may be a bit too formal and busy. If this is an upscale location, you may want to go with something a bit more conservative and classic. You can hardly go wrong with the classics. Even most of the lovely ladies of film wore classic styles for the last Oscar night.
