Music for outdoor wedding

I'm having an outdoor wedding (barring rain of course) at a golf club. We intend to get married on hole #12, which requires a procession of golf carts to get the guests out to it. The ceremony is going to be very short. And aside from the infirm, there will be no seating.

I'm just wondering if it will be shockingly quiet without music, or if there will be no time for music.

And depending on your answer, if music is a must - what sort of music source do you recommend?

Dear Music?

It isn't a must. But, I would use some sort of amplification or your guests will not hear the ceremony. Your officiant can use this to let the guests know the ceremony is about to begin since you have no music cue.

Best wishes,

I would suggest arriving at the ceremony in a decorated golf cart, since that is how everyone else will be arriving. It would keep to your Golf Theme! Definitely have some music, even if you use a good boombox (battery operated) so you can play the wedding march while arriving at the destination.

If it's a small ceremony, hearing shouldn't be a problem, but you can always check with the management of the course and see if there is a portable sound system that you can either rent or use during the ceremony. Check with them to see if they have remote power along the course (i.e. buried electrical lines with outlets). Usually golf courses have automatic watering sytems and such, and you might be able to connect to that power source. If so, bring along a karaoke machine with microphone that could be used to amplify the sound.
