My younger Brother got engaged in March 2006 and set a wedding date for June 2007. I got engaged in June 2006. My fiancee (34) and I (38) are ready to start a family and don't want to wait until summer of 2007 to get married. We gently broached the idea about getting married 2-3 months before them and they were very upset and wanted us to wait until after they were married. We feel as if we have shown the proper respect for their date, but also want to live our lives. Are we doing the right thing to get married 2+ months prior to my Brother?

It is fine, but many do feel as if they are being upstaged. 2+ months before is great.
