i need help determining what the appropriate monetary gift should be for an upcoming wedding that i'm one of the groomsmen. Here are the details: Wedding is in Virginia Beach; wedding size is between 200-250 people; rate at groom suggested suggested hotel is three nights at $224/night; not giving an individual gift or a group gift from the groomsmen just want to put cash in an envelope with a nice card. Any help is appreciated. ThanKs

There is no magic equation for selecting a wedding gift amount. Give from your heart and based on your budget. What might seem like a generous gift to some might not seem so generous to others.

I complete agree. Money isn't always the best gift.
