Attire for Sunday 4pm wedding at mansion

My husband and I have been invited to a 4:00 wedding on a Sunday afternoon in August The wedding, cocktail hour, and reception are all being held at a mansion in California. What is the appropriate attire for this wedding?

Dear Wedding Attire,
Cocktail attire is best--a suit for the man and the little black dress or its equivalent for the lady. Because this is going to be very 'classy' it is best to pay very close attention to hair, make-up, and accessories--his tie should be very high quality.
