Veil and headpiece for an informal outdoor wedding?

I would really like to wear a veil and bridal headpiece at my wedding but the reception is more informal- in a big beautiful backyard-around 4pm. I read somewhere that it was not appropriate to wear a veil for an outdoor wedding. What if I wore them both for pictures and the ceremony but took off the veil for the reception? Thanks!

Dear Adair,

A short veil could be worn for an informal wedding no matter where it is held. So just wear a short one.
